Lawsuit over Cabazon Band casino work dismissed

An appeals court in California has dismissed a lawsuit against the Cabazon Band of Mission Indians.

DCD Development Inc. said it was owed $500,000 for work at the Fantasy Springs Casino. But a panel of three judges said the money couldn't be recovered due to sovereign immunity.

The tribe opened the $200 million facility in January 2005.
