NIGC holds hearing on Graton Rancheria casino

The National Indian Gaming Commission held a public hearing on the Graton Rancheria's proposed casino in northern California.

The NIGC took comments about the tribe's proposal in Rohnert Park. Residents voiced objections about alleged harms they said the casino would bring.

The tribe, whose recognition was restored by an act of Congress, paid $100 million for the land. The tribe is allowed to reacquire land in Marin or Sonoma County for a restored reservation.
