Gaming compact negotiations between the state of Florida and the Seminole Tribe and the Miccosukee Tribe have stalled, The Miami Herald reports.
Gov. Jeb Bush (R) agreed to negotiate with the tribes after voters in Broward County legalized slot machines. He campaigned against the machines and now says he would back an effort to outlaw them.
But for now, the talks are stalled because lawmakers can't agree on regulations for the slot machines. James F. Allen, the chief executive of gaming operations for the Seminoles, said he isn't pushing the issue but that the tribe is willing to share revenues with the state.
