Oregon tribe votes to sell alcohol at casino

Leaders of the Umatilla Tribes of Oregon voted unanimously to approve the sale of liquor at the Wildhorse Resort and Casino.

Tribal leaders acted in response to increased competition. Non-Indian bars and taverns are now offering video poker.

Liquor sales won't start at the casino until early 2006, a tribal spokesperson said. The rest of the reservation will remain dry.
