Oklahoma casino revenues smaller than expected

Oklahoma tribes shared $1 million in gaming revenues for the month of July but the figure is far lower than expected, The Oklahoman reports.

The state expects to see $52.8 million in gaming revenues over the next year. Of the amount, $40.5 million is expected to come from tribes. The rest is to come from race tracks.

It's not clear whether the projection will be met. Some tribes have been slow to install the Class III electronic machines authorized by the new compact. Most of the $4 million the state has received has come from card games.

In July, the Chickasaw Nation contributed the most of any tribe, with $336,895 going to the state.
