Official wants say in another tribe's casino bid

A council member in Temecula, California, wants the city to be consulted on a proposed tribal casino about 25 miles away.

The Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians is seeking to build a casino near Hemet. But Temecula council member Ron Roberts says his city should be consulted because visitors to the Soboba casino would pass through Temecula.

The Soboba casino would be built on non-reservation land. Temecula is home to the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians, which opposes off-reservation gaming.
