The city council in Marysville, California, voted 4-1 on Monday to approve a casino agreement with the Enterprise Rancheria.
Debate on the agreement lasted more than an hour, The Marysville-Yuba City Appeal-Democrat reported. More than 100 people attended, with both sides of the issue equally represented, the paper said.
The tribe plans to build a $90 million hotel-casino on 40 acres of non-reservation land in Yuba County. The tribe will share millions with the city and the county under separate agreements.
The tribe still needs the land place in trust and a Class III gaming compact with the state.
