Mashantucket Tribe plans to restart 'PlayAway' game

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut hopes to restart its controversial new "PlayAway" game on August 15.

The game allows players to collect keno tickets at the casino, then check whether they won a prize by going online. It is the first promotion of its kind in the country, the Associated Press reported.

The tribe suspended the game in response to complaints from the state, whose officials contend it is a form of Internet gambling. The tribe says it will make some changes to inform players that no actual wagering takes place online.
