Sycuan Band makes donation for gaming center

The Sycuan Band of Kumeyaay Indians announced its $5.47 million donation to San Diego State University to create an Indian gaming center.

"Indian gaming is going to be here a long time. We wanted a reputable college that's going to be unbiased and look at these issues good and bad," Chairman Daniel Tucker said, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

The Sycuan Band of Kumeyaay Nations Institute on Tribal Gaming will train students to work in the gaming industry, serve as a public policy resource and clearinghouse on gaming and perform research on tribal gaming.
