Connecticut tribes contribute $417M in slot revenues

Connecticut's two tribes contributed a total of $417.8 million in slot machine revenues to the state during the fiscal year ending June 2005.

Last month alone, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation contributed $16.2 million to the state, based on $64.8 million in slot revenues. The Mohegan Tribe contributed $17.5 million, based on $70.3 million in slots.

The tribes each share 25 percent of slot machine revenues under their gaming compacts. The rate used to be the highest in the nation until some tribes in California and one tribe in New York agreed to share similar percentages.
