The Senate Indian Affairs Committee is holding its second oversight hearing on regulation of Indian gaming on Wednesday.
Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona), has promised a series of hearings into the $19 billion industry. The first one was held on April 27, when tribal leaders urged caution in amending the Indian Gaming
Regulatory Act and others criticized the land-into-trust process.
The hearing on Wednesday will include two tribal leaders from Arizona. Vivian Juan-Saunders, chairwoman of the Tohono O'odham Nation and Dallas Massey Sr., chairman of the White Mountain Apache Tribe, are expected to tout the state's tribal gaming compact as a model.
