Washington state sees big growth in Indian gaming

Tribal casinos in Washington took in nearly $1 billion in revenues in 2004, an 11.2 percent increase from the year prior, according to the recent Indian Gaming Industry Report [Web Site].

The growth is attributed to the addition of more slot machines, according to The Analysis Group. Tribes added 16 percent more machines in 2003 and another 15 percent in 2004, the report said.

But analyst Alan Meister said the Washington market is maturing. Others say the years of double-digit growth are over.
