Schwarzenegger signs two more gaming compacts

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) announced the signing of gaming compacts with two of the state's largest tribes.

Under the compact, the Yurok Tribe will open a casino with 350 slot machines. Even though this is just 1 machine over the level that would have qualified the tribe as "non-gaming" under the prior tribal-state compact, the tribe will share up to 25 percent of revenues from the machines.

The Quechan Nation signed an amended compact for a casino with up to 1,100 slot machines. The tribe will also share up to 25 percent of revenues with the state.
