First Nations casino to cost more than expected

A First Nations casino outside of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, is expected to cost $66 million, up from prior estimates of $43 million.

The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority is designing and paying for the new Dakota Dunes Casino. But due to the rising costs, Industry Minister Eric Cline says the province has to sign off before construction can continue.

The casino is the first "urban" casino in the province. SIGA oversees four other tribal casinos in the province.
