Jury awards $242M verdict for failed casino deal

A jury in Wisconsin awarded $242 million to a group of investors in a failed tribal casino deal.

The award to three partners in Nii-Jii Entertainment is being called the largest in state history. Nii-Jii planned to develop an off-reservation casino for the Menominee Nation but the plaintiffs found out their partners had ties to organized crime and had felony convictions.

The Menominee Nation is still moving ahead with the off-reservation casino but with another developer.
