Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty's faltering plan for two state-sponsored casinos in the Twin Cities faces a key committee vote as early as today.
Pawlenty (R) is proposing a state-tribal casino and a racino at the Canterbury Park racetrack.
But two of the three tribes who were part of the deal have dropped out and lawmaker of both parties are backing away.
Other tribes in the state oppose any expansion of gaming. The Canterbury Park racino would have a direct impact on the nearby Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community casino.
