The Stillaguamish Tribe of Washington has removed a casino billboard deemed illegal by state authorities.
The tribe put up the billboard along Interstate 5. Its size and location violated state regulations, state officials said back in January, before giving the tribe 30 days to remove the sign.
The land where the billboard was located is owned by tribal members but is not held in trust. The tribe is beginning the process of acquiring the land in trust status.
