The Red Lake Band of Chippewa voted on Monday to withdraw from a plan to build two casinos in partnership with the state and with a private company.
The Red Lake Band joined the Leech Lake Band in rejecting the proposed deal. That leaves only the White Earth Band in talks with Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R).
The three tribes had agreed to a partnership with the state for an off-reservation casino in the Twin Cities. But, with Pawlenty's acquiescence, the non-Indian Canterbury Park racetrack became part of another proposal for two casinos at the track site, located near the Shakopee Mdewakanton Dakota Community.
