"A slot inspections dispute at the Sac and Fox tribal casino should give Kansas lawmakers long pause in deciding whether the tribe can open a second casino
For the past year, however, Kansas regulators have been denied tribal permission to test the casino's slots to their satisfaction, leaving the integrity of the tribe's electronic gambling devices open to question.
The tribe disputes the state's allegations and contends its in-house tribal gaming commission “scrupulously” tests the casino's slots and has offered those results for state review.
The dispute should never have tipped this far over the edge. The fact it has festered for so long in tribal and regulatory secrecy points out yet another flaw in the ill-conceived national Indian Gaming Regulatory Act."
