The Sullivan County Legislature voted 6-3 on Thursday to support New York Gov. George Pataki's proposal to boost the number of casinos in the Catskills from three to five.
Pataki (R) has submitted a bill to settle land claims with five tribes, including two from out-of-state. The package needs the approval of Congress.
Sullivan County has expressed support for the casinos but some are questioning the many delays and have been concerned about the impact of gaming.
