Coeur d'Alene Tribe forced to shut down betting

The Coeur d'Alene Tribe of Idaho has been forced to stop offering off-track betting from New York in response to an organize crime scandal.

The tribe is not involved or implicated in the investigation. Authorities in New York allege tracks in New York were used in an illegal betting scheme by members of the Gambino crime family.

The tribe is working with the New York Racing Association to restart the betting. Off-track betting from other states continues.

The Tonkawa Tribe of Oklahoma was also offering satellite betting from the tracks in question.
