The Yakama Nation of Washington is considering two sites for a new casino in the populous Portland, Oregon, area.
Chairman Louis Cloud said the tribe has trust land in Battle Ground, Washington, and in Oregon City, Oregon. Battle Ground
[Yahoo Map] is north of Portland while Oregon City [Yahoo Map] is to the south.
Cloud wouldn't specify the exact location of the trust land. "It's our secret," Cloud told The Oregonian. "We know who owns the land, and it's held in trust."
The tribal council, which consists of all tribal members, may consider the issue at a meeting next week.
