The owners of a non-Indian dog track has filed a motion with the Wisconsin Supreme Court, seeking to invalidate a new gaming compact between the state and the Forest County Potawatomi Tribe.
The Dairyland Greyhound Park claims the compact is unconstitutional because it would allow the tribe to operate certain Class III games that are not allowed under state law. A 1993 amendment to the state constitution bars the expansion of gaming.
The Dairyland owners are hoping to convert the track into a tribal casino with the Menominee Nation of Wisconsin.
