Backers of the Iowa Tribe's proposed casino are looking elsewhere now that efforts to put the issue on the ballot in Sedgwick County, Kansas, have failed.
The tribe, which has land in Kansas and Nebraska, sought a non-reservation casino outside of Wichita. But Sedgwick County commissioners recently decided to delay an advisory referendum indefinitely.
The tribe is now looking at other sites, former Wichita Mayor Bob Knight said. Knight wouldn't identify the sites.
