California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) will sign compacts with two tribes for off-reservation casinos in Barstow, The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
The deals will allow the Los Coyotes Band of Mission Indians and the Big Lagoon Rancheria to open casinos with up 2,400 slot machines each, the paper said.
An announcement will be made shortly.
The Los Coyotes Band is based 157 miles from Barstow. The Big Lagoon Rancheria is based 719 miles away, in northern California.
