Wisconsin tribe shares gaming money with locals

The Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans is sharing gaming revenues with local governments through a newly established grant program.

As part of its compact with the state, the tribe is offering $100,000 in grants for law enforcement, roads, education and other programs. Applications are being accepted until February 21.

The compact allows the tribe to deduct the grant money from the amount the tribe owes to the state.
