The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe of New York has had preliminary talks about building a second casino in the Catskills, The Middletown Times Herald-Record reports.
The tribe is already in the process of building a casino in the Catskills, about 90 minutes north of New York City. But the plans are moving "an excruciatingly slow pace" Mohawk Chief Jim Ransom told the paper.
The tribe is still committed to a casino at the site of the Kutsher's Sports Academy casino. But a second location is being eyed, sources told the paper. Ransom wouldn't confirm or deny the talks.
