Two Chippewa tribes presented their off-reservation casino proposal to business leaders in
the Beloit, Wisconsin, and Rockford, Illinois, area.
The St. Croix and Bad River bands are proposed to build the casino in Beloit, just north of
the Illinois state line. The tribes say businesses on both sides of the border will benefit.
The tribes need approval from the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the state to open the casino.
