The Seneca Nation of New York plans to locate its third casino in downtown Buffalo, The Buffalo News reports.
Under its compact with the state, the tribe can open three Class III casinos, including two off-reservation casinos.
The tribe already opened a casino off the reservation in Niagara Falls and another one on the reservation in Salamanca.
The Buffalo casino would be the second off-reservation casino. The tribe had previously considered locating it in suburban Buffalo, to the dismay of local and business leaders who wanted it in the downtown area.
