The Shakopee Mdewakanton Dakota Sioux Community spent nearly $384,000 to lobby against a proposed state-tribal casino, The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Lobbyists for the tribe filed an amended report with the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board disclosing the expenditure. Of the amount, $284,000 was used to buy radio and television ads against the proposed state-tribal casino.
The amended report was filed because the tribe previously said it didn't spent any money on media advertising in the first six months of 2005.
