A federal judge on Wednesday refused to shut down the casino operated by the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians.
The tribe has been running the casino since 1986. But state officials say the facility is not located on Indian lands as required by the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
The tribe contends the land is Indian Country.
