Village trustees in Saugerties, New York, voted 5-0 to oppose off-reservation casino development.
The Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma has proposed a casino in the village near the site of the 1994 Woodstock concert. But local leaders say it will hurt the community.
The village's decision is expected to have an impact on a proposed Ulster County resolution to bar the county from entering into any gaming deals without the approval of the host community.
