Two California tribes are proposing off-reservation casinos just outside of Merced in Merced County.
The North Fork Mono Tribe is seeking a casino south of the city. The California Valley Miwok Tribe, is looking at a site just west.
The Mono tribe already has an agreement with Madera County for casino. The Miwok plan is still being developed.
