The Bureau of Indian Affairs has approved six Class III gaming compacts, according to notices published in the Federal Register today.
The BIA approved Class III compacts between the state of Oklahoma and the Iowa Tribe, the Modoc Tribe, the Ottawa Tribe, the Delaware Nation and the Sac & Fox Nation.
The BIA also approved amendments to an existing Class III compact between the state of Oregon and the Warm Springs Tribes. [The tribe's compact for an off-reservation casino has been previously rejected.]
The Oklahoma notice was signed by Mike Olsen, the acting principal deputy assistant secretary for Indian affairs. The Oregon notice was signed by Jim Cason, the associate deputy secretary and acting assistant secretary for Indian affairs.
