Lawmakers in Ulster County, New York, are being asked to approve a resolution that bars the negotiation of an off-reservation casino without the approval of the host community.
The resolution doesn't take a position on the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe's proposal in the village of Saugerties. The Oklahoma tribe is considering a casino at the farm of the 1994 Woodstock concert.
Local officials in Saugerties have already expressed doubts about the casino. Their opposition could derail the proposal.
