Two more Oklahoma tribal governments have received approval to start offering Class III games under a new tribal-state compact.
The Muscogee Creek Nation and the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes received approval on Friday. That means a total of 18 tribes have been authorized for table games and other Class III machines.
Six more tribes are awaiting approval for their compacts. This group includes the Seminole Nation, the last of the "big" gaming tribes to sign a compact.
The compacts require the tribes to share a portion of revenues from certain electronic casino machines with the state. So far only one tribe, the Cherokee Nation, has installed the machines.
