Slot machines are coming to South Florida with the approval of Class III gaming by voters in one county.
Voters in Broward County and Miami-Dade County went to the polls on Tuesday. Broward voters approved slot machines with 57 percent of the vote while Miami-Dade voters rejected the machines.
Regardless of the vote, the Miccosukee Tribe and the Seminole Tribe say they will be able to offer Class III machines. The Miccosukee Tribe has already asked Gov. Jeb Bush (R) to negotiate a compact. Bush campaign against the slot machine initiative.
