The Pauma Band of Luiseno Indians plans to build a Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on its reservation in California.
The tribe already operates a small casino. The new development is slated to include a hotel, restaurants and at least 2,000 slot machines.
The tribe is one of several that signed a compact with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R). The compact requires the tribe to reach an agreement with North County to offset impacts of the casino, including financial support for the county.
