Audit finds misuse of First Nation gaming funds

The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority misspent nearly $500,000 (Canadian) on golf and other questionable items, the Provincial Auditor has found.

Among other expenditures, SIGA used $95,000 for golf fees and promotional merchandise and $20,000 on golf clubs for staff members, the audit said. The purchases did not comply with policy.

SIGA says the misspent money represents only a small amount of the $125 million in gaming money that has been used properly.
