Ohio village to sell land to Oklahoma tribe

The Botkins, Ohio, village council voted on Tuesday to sell 50 acres to the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma.

The tribe is seeking approval for an out-of-state casino. The tribe has already bought 150 acres in Monroe. Botkins and Monroe are located near each other and near a major interstate.

The tribe, once part of the Cherokee Nation, doesn't have a land base in Oklahoma.
