Editorial: Off-reservation casino a long shot

"[T]he meeting at which representatives of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa and the Grand Forks City Council will talk about a casino is Monday. So, there's still time to invite a person who ought to be at that meeting:

Wayne Stenehjem, North Dakota attorney general.

Because the reality is, as Stenehjem likely would say, the odds against a Grand Forks casino may be 100 to 1. That doesn't make the project impossible, mind you. But it does make it politically daunting and a task that the tribe and the city ought to approach with their strategies set and their eyes open."
