Mohegan Tribe has stake in Wisconsin casino

The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut will be paying attention to a voter referendum in Wisconsin on Election Day.

The Mohegans signed an agreement to manage an off-reservation casino for the Menominee Nation. The Menominees want to convert an old racetrack into a Class III facility.

Voters in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, are being asked to approve the project. The vote is nonbinding but local and state officials say it is key to the casino being approved by Gov. Jim Doyle (D).
