Schwarzenegger won't approve deal without land

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) won't negotiate a casino with the Original Enterprise Rancheria because the tribe lacks a land base and doesn't have local support, The Marysville-Yuba City Appeal-Democrat reports.

Schwarzenegger's concerns were relayed in a letter from his legal affairs secretary Peter Siggins. The letter sticks to the policy involving landless tribes and local support that was held by former governor Gray Davis, a Democrat.

The Original Enterprise Rancheria is fighting with Enterprise Rancheria No. 2 over who controls the tribe. Enterprise No. 2 is made up of members who were disenrolled.
