Officials discuss urban casino in North Dakota

Officials from Grand Forks, North Dakota, met with the Turtle Mountain Ojibwe Tribe to discuss a possible urban casino in Grand Forks.

The tribe played host to the meeting, which took place on the Turtle Mountain Reservation. Tribal council members gave a tour of the reservation to the city officials.

The city and tribe say they are hopeful that the casino idea can move forward. Other tribes in the state have voiced opposition, citing potential threats to their on-reservation casinos. The tribe says its ancestral territory includes Grand Forks.
