California tribe plans expansion of small casino

The La Jolla Band of Luiseńo Indians will expand its small casino under a $25 million deal with a Texas company.

The tribe and Nevada Gold & Casinos entered into a management partnership. The company will run the new casino for a 23 percent of pretax net revenues over five years, and a 2 percent development fee on the project cost.

The casino will go from 30 slot machines to 349 machines. The tribe will add a 75-room hotel. The expansion will be complete in mid-to-late 2005.
