Developer urges support for Seneca-Cayuga casino

A developer backing the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma says residents of Rochester, New York, need to lobby the state for a casino.

Thomas C. Wilmot wants to build a $500 million casino in downtown Rochester. But Gov. George Pataki (R) said he won't discuss the proposal unless there is local support.

The Seneca-Cayugas were negotiating to settle their portion of the 64,000-acre Cayuga land claim for gaming rights in New York. But the Cayuga Nation objected to the provision.
