Schwarzenegger argues against rival proposals

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) on Wednesday filed ballot arguments against two gaming initiatives.

Schwarzenegger opposes Proposition 68, which would allow slot machines at non-Indian card clubs and racetracks. He also opposes Proposition 70, an initiative sponsored by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians that would allow tribes to expand gaming in exchange for an 8.84 percent sharing rate.

Schwarzenegger promised to fight the rival initiatives after signing new compacts with a handful of tribes.
