$1B offer for education doesn't help Cheyenne-Arapahos

The backers of a proposed casino in Colorado say the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma will contribute $1 billion over 10 years for public education.

Council Tree Communications made the offer to the state Board of Education on Wednesday. But board members weren't exactly taken by it, The Denver Post reported. One said gaming would not help tribal members.

The tribes have laid claim to 27 million acres in Colorado. They are willing to settle for 500 acres and gaming rights.
