California tribe sues to halt new gaming compacts

The Rincon Band of Luiseno Indians filed suit on Wednesday against new compacts being negotiated by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R).

The new agreements have yet to be finalized. But the lawsuit claims they will hurt other tribes by allowing some tribes to operate unlimited slot machines.

Rincon Chairman John Currier said the tribe asked to be part of the discussions but was ignored until last week.
