Court asked to stop new compacts in Wisconsin

The owners of a dog track in Wisconsin don't want Gov. Jim Doyle (D) to sign new gaming compacts with tribes.

Dairyland Greyhound Park filed a lawsuit against the compacts Doyle signed last year. The track says its challenge should be resolved before Doyle is allowed to sign any new deals.

Doyle met with tribes last week to discuss the next step in the controversy. Some tribal leaders said they weren't ready to sign another compact.

The dog track industry is fighting the expansion of Indian gaming, saying tribes are taking over the market.
